aftercare instructions
Following your aftercare instructions carefully is essential for the best results. Pre-care and aftercare make up about 50% of your healed result, and results can vary depending on your skin type.
Brow Tattoos
Brows may appear dark, thick, or “blocky” initially. Scabbing, patchiness, and asymmetry are normal until your 6 week touch up, which is required to see the true result.
2 hours post treatment, remove any cream that has been applied to the area using a baby/makeup wipe or dampened tissue.
Do not apply balm for the first 48 hours. After that, apply a thin layer morning and night until scabs fall off (usually 7–10 days).
Avoid: wetting, sweating, exercise, makeup, facials, hot showers/steam, sun, and skincare with retinol until all scabs have flaked away.
Do not pick scabs—this pulls out pigment and will scar.
Avoid sleeping with pets or anything that may increase infection risk for the first 48 hours.
Longevity tips:
Avoid sun exposure, smoking, and applying retinol to the brow area long term..
Oily skin or heavy bleeding may require extra touch-ups.
All touch ups are at the client’s cost. Book your 6 week touch up early to secure your spot. Delays past 3 months incur the 3–6 month touch up fee if you failed to book in time. Maintenance is recommended between 1-3 years depending on skin type and desired outcome.
Lip Tattoos
Lips will appear vibrant or reddish while healing. True colour is visible by week 2.
Use a straw when drinking for the first day and brush teeth carefully for the first 48 hours.
Apply the provided aftercare balm as often as needed.
Avoid touching the area, sleeping with pets, makeup, facials, hot showers/steam, sun, and skincare with active ingredients.
Do not pick scabs. Scabs usually fall off within a week for lips.

Cold sores: Preventative medication may not fully stop an outbreak. If a cold sore occurs, some pigment may be lost, and a touch up may be required. If you are a carrier of the cold sore virus then it is possible to still get a cold sore regardless of the preventative medication being taken due to the trauma of having a tattoo. A cold sore may normally appear around day 4 - if this is the case then please refrain from using anything on the area other than directed by your doctor.
Eyeliner Tattoos
Avoid touching the area and applying makeup for 7-10 days.
Do not wear lash extensions during healing.

Maintenance of Your Cosmetic Tattoo
After your 6 week touch up, your tattoo is considered healed and complete. Most clients will need to refresh their tattoo every 1–3 years to maintain colour and shape, as all tattoos naturally fade over time.
We do not recommend coming in too frequently, as this can cause over implanting of pigment, which may affect the final appearance and longevity of your tattoo. Proper spacing between sessions helps preserve a natural look and ensures your tattoo heals beautifully each time.
For some clients, after 5 years or more, we may recommend removing excess pigment with laser before adding new ink. This helps prevent too much build up and ensures the best results when refreshing your tattoo. This is especially the case for brow tattoos in order to keep the ink appearing neutral and not grey.
